An application is not a loan. Never tell a client the money is coming until the system shows the loan as disbursed.
Choose the right client
Someone who lives or works in your branch area, runs a real small business, and who you can find again easily. Meet them in person.
Collect the documents
Clear photo of the National ID (NRC), clear portrait photo, full name, NRC number and phone number, amount wanted and what it is for. Plus a guarantor: full name, NRC number, phone number and how they know the client. The guarantor must be a different person from the client.
Enter it under New Application
Returning client? Search by name, NRC or phone and press Look Up. A client who moved from another branch shows up when you type their full NRC number or full phone number. Attach both photos, add the guarantor, then press Submit Application for Finance Review. If the system warns of a possible duplicate, stop and check with Finance.
Follow it under My Applications
Finance will phone your client, so tell them to expect the call. Check the status every day.

Collect the daily drop
Count the money in front of the client and tell them the amount. Keep it safe until you deposit.
Log it under Collections & Portfolio
Pick the client and enter the full amount they gave you. It covers missed days first, then today, then days ahead. Log each payment the same day, and only what you really received.
Deposit under Deposit Batch
The screen shows the amount the prompt will ask for. It is slightly less than your total because Urunji covers the 1.5% mobile money fee, and your clients are credited the full amount. Enter the number you will pay from (Airtel, MTN or Zamtel, with enough money), press send, then approve the PIN prompt on that phone.
Wait for the confirmation
Client balances update only after the payment is confirmed. Until then they show as Pending. Do not send it again.
No prompt on the phone?
Defaulters: the watchlist on your overview shows clients in your branch who missed 3 or more drops. Visit them early. Mistakes: logged the wrong amount or client? Tell Finance straight away instead of entering a new payment.

Add money from an outside source (for example owner capital) to the Urunji Business wallet so it is available for loan disbursements. A mobile money prompt is sent; the top-up is recorded once it is approved. Lipila's 1.5% fee applies, so the wallet receives slightly less than you send.

Note: this only updates the client's master record for future lookups — it does not change the details already recorded on their past loan applications.
Add a new branch so it appears on the branch-selection screen for everyone.
Note: newly added branches won't have any Loan Officer assigned yet — create their login account and set their branch via Supabase, same as your existing staff.
A link lets a client apply from his own phone. Each link belongs to one branch (and optionally one loan officer), so applications only come from the areas we operate in. They arrive in Finance Review marked "Online application" – Finance must phone the client before recommending. Nothing is approved or paid automatically.
Applies to all new loans and to every running loan that had not yet reached its due date on 3 November 2026. A loan is due on its 27th collection day. After 3 calendar days of grace, a penalty of 5% of the amount borrowed per day is added, up to 50%. At the cap, the collateral must be collected. Loan officers earn no commission on penalties.
Contracts, loan officer commission and performance appraisals.
Every active loan and whether its client has a self-payment link. Share the link by WhatsApp so the client pays his daily drop from his own phone. Payments are credited only after Lipila confirms them.
Add staff, change their role or branch, reset passwords, and deactivate people who leave. Staff are never deleted: a deactivated person can no longer sign in, but their loans, payments and deposits stay on record. A branch can have more than one loan officer.
Give it to the person privately.

For client payments that were made but never entered in the system — for example money sent to a staff member's own mobile money number before Lipila. Each correction must name the mobile money transfer it came in on. Only the Director can use this screen. Nothing changes until you approve it in step 2. Once approved it is counted as paid straight away (oldest missed day first); no payment prompt is sent and nothing is added to any officer's deposit.
One transfer can cover several clients. The clients' amounts together can't exceed it.
Approve only after checking the transfer on the mobile money statement and confirming with the client.

Interest is the 25.93% (35/135) portion of every payment. Commission counts once the deposit is confirmed. When you withdraw it, the request goes to the Director for approval and Finance pays it; those payments are then marked as withdrawn and never show as available again.

Loan Officers earn 7% of all confirmed collections in their own branch, only on loans disbursed after their probation ended (the exact figures per officer are under HR, Commission). The Finance Officer earns 7% and the Director 8% of the interest on all branches. Interest is the 25.93% (35/135) portion of every confirmed payment collected in the selected period. Only payments confirmed through a deposit are counted.

The client opens this link on his phone, enters an amount and his mobile money number, and approves the PIN prompt. The payment is credited straight to this loan once Lipila confirms it. It can only take money in. Tell the loan officer this client pays himself, so his payments are not logged twice.
Penalties are 5% of the amount borrowed per day after 3 days of grace, up to 50%. Follow up with these clients today.
